Do we even need to drink more .. water? How do you drink your daily water? Just a little sip each time from a glas? And how is that working for you then? can you manage to drink all that water in one day sipping from a glas?
Let me share a secret on how to get all that water down!
Do 10 gulps! each time you drink!
1st thing in the morning- 10 gulps!
- You need water to eliminate the toxins in your body especially when you exercise
- Your energy will increase with water consumption!
- You loo visits will get better!
However, drinking too much water can also be dangerous. Overhydration can lead to water intoxication. This occurs when the amount of salt and other electrolytes in your body become too diluted. … If your electrolytes drop too low too quickly, it can not so good!
Electrolytes are minerals with an electric charge, such as magnesium and potassium. They play important roles in your body, including regulating water balance. When electrolyte levels become too low or too high, they can cause shifts in your fluid balance.
When you drink too much water, your electrolyte levels drop and that balance is compromised. Low electrolyte levels can cause a number of unpleasant symptoms, including muscle spasms and cramping.
You need sodium – ie salt!
So, drinking water is great but don’t, like all things in life, go mad about it.
It increases satiety. You feel fuller faster and hunger pains could be reduced.
Water boosts your metabolic rate. Water increases metabolism ( metabolic rate= is the number of calories required to keep your body functioning at rest) and helps you feel full.
If you drink cold water – it forces your body to use more energy to heat it up= the body will use additional energy (calories) (so you burn more fat) to heat the water to body temperature.
Exercise and dehydration-it can lead to altered body temperature control, reduced motivation, increased fatigue and make exercise feel much more difficult, both physically and mentally.
Fluid loss after exercise impaired both mood and concentration and increased the frequency of headaches! Drink water when you exercise and after to detox. Flush out the toxins.
Water prevents muscle cramping and helps lubricates the muscles along with the joints, bones, and ligaments. You become more flexible.
Are you dehydrated?
Dehydration- affects the working memory and increases feelings of anxiety and fatigue, in essence: major reductions in memory and brain performance. 80% of your brain tissue is water. Feel better drink water!
For a cleanse and detox – dehydration can trigger headaches and migraines.
Water helps with hangovers. Alcohol is a diuretic, so it makes you lose more water than you take in. This can lead to dehydration. Alcohol can cause symptoms like thirst, fatigue, headache and dry mouth. How to reduce hangovers- drink a glass of water between drinks, and to have at least one big glass of water before going to bed.
If you are thirsty- you’re already dehydrated! If you’re dehydrated, your body and your mind are stressed.
Dehydration makes you feel tired and clogs up your brain function. Water is a great pick me up.
Water helps your heart pump your blood more effectively.
And it helps your blood transport oxygen and other essential nutrients to your cells faster and easier.
Water dissolves waste particles and passes them smoothly through your digestive tract- easier to relieve yourself on the loo. So water is important for a good digestion. It helps with constipation in both young and elderly individuals. Carbonated water shows particularly promising results for constipation relief.
Kidney stones- water dilutes the salts and minerals in your urine that form the solid crystals known as kidney stones. Drink water to avoid kidney stones!
Keeps you looking younger!
Fine lines and wrinkles are deeper when you’re dehydrated. Drink water! So water keeps you looking young longer.
As it flushes out impurities and improves circulation and blood flow, helping your skin glow. Water is the best detox of them all!
How much water do you drink each day?
I’m aiming to drink at least 3 litres per day or more from today.
Carry your water bottle with you, and fill it up regularly. The water bottle I have with me at all times is one that serves a dual purpose – to conveniently carry my water and also to filter some things out of the water available to me. It has a small built-in filter in the drinking tube to reduce Chlorine (taste & odor) found in tap water, on the go or at home.
