How to stay healthy with fresh turmeric and lemon

How to treat joint pain with Fresh Turmeric from Amazon without spending a fortune and just maybe it will work!
Francesca, my 16 years old daughter, has joint pain sense years back.
I think it because she does so much sports at a very young age. As a sport scholar you can’t say no when asked to take part in all different sport activities. But it’s not just too much sports, that makes her have this issue. What it is I don’t know yet.
We went to Boots in Reading and got some painkillers. I’m truly at my wits end as she has seen specialist in Oxford and Nuffield Health Hospital and so many more. It feels like if there is someone who knows something in the south of UK about joint pain for young athletes we have been there. Fran saw a specialist physiotherapist for years.
So, here we are in Reading at Boost, at the chemist and this wonderful women comes along.
She talks about turmeric and ginger and mixing them to make a drink for Fran to have twice a day. I am all for alternative medicine. I have also run out of options to help her. Pranic healing hasn’t worked as I think I’m to emotional about it all and I just can’t chill enough to help my own daughter with energy healing just now.
The women said:
Take some ginger, a thump size and some turmeric, fresh root, peel off the worst of the ‘cover’ and cut them into super small pieces. Put them into a glas, poor salt over- just a spoon full, that will remove the extra water around them. Let that stand for some hours and remove the water. Leave the salt on as that will give some nice taste to the concoction.
Then use a fresh jar and put in the mix, ginger, turmeric and salt and squeeze a lemon over them, so that it covers them. Let’s stand for a couple of hours.
This is funny enough the same procedure we preserve salmon in Sweden, with salt and lemon, ‘ Gravad lax’.
Once I have done my concoction and Fran has tasted it and I know how it works I will share that will you as well.
Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric.
- Turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.
- It neutralizes free radicals on its own but also stimulates your body’s own antioxidant enzymes.
- Curcumin also boosts levels of the brain hormone BDNF, which increases the growth of new neurons and fights various degenerative processes in your brain.
- The naturally-occurring chemical compound found in the spice turmeric, is Curcumin. It may help reverse many steps in the heart disease process.
- Multiple studies indicate that curcumin can reduce the growth of cancerous cells in the laboratory and inhibit the growth of tumors in test animals
- It’s known that inflammation and oxidative damage play a role in Alzheimer’s disease, and curcumin has beneficial effects on both
Given that curcumin is a potent anti-inflammatory compound,it makes sense that it may help with arthritis. Several studies show this to be true. In a study in people with rheumatoid arthritis, curcumin was even more effective than an anti-inflammatory drug
- According to this small study, curcumin is as effective as an antidepressant. There is also some evidence that curcumin can boost the brain neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine.
It prevents
- Helps with Cancer treatments.
- Used for skin care
- Aids in digestion
- Manages diabetes
- Brain booster
- Treatment for high cholesterol.
Done! And it’s great!
You can use it in cooking, add it in before you fry up your chicken or salmon and it gives it an extra kick.
I used the leftover, from when you peel the ginger and the turmeric for Tee. It’s tasty and healthy! I add just a little- 1 tsp of honey as honey can cause weight gain.

- Like ginger, fresh turmeric is a very different animal to the ground version.
- It has a strong, hot, earthy tang which, used in very small amounts, can transform very simple foods like rice and soup into more exotic dishes.
- Try in curries and lentil dishes. For best results, use thinly sliced sticks or grate the root, but beware – fresh turmeric stains like pollen!
- It stains! It can stain your clothes and fabrics around, if not careful.
